For the Watts Tower assignment I've decided to go with the modular grid design, mainly because it gives me the most elbow room in terms of shape and size, with every tiny square on the grid acting like a piece of a much bigger construct. If I need a bigger section, I just combine grid points to make it so. In regards to my direction of the poster, I've decided to portray the Towers as a symbol of endurance and durability towards the high school students from age 15-18. This way the Towers can act as an inspirational symbol as they get through high school and come out of it all hopefully ready to endure the harder times to come.
If the Towers were built during a tough time in a tough area using only what was available to the artist, why can't the students do the same to reach their own endeavors?

Rough around the edges.
Here's a square timeline of my design process First on the top left is the original design in green, next on the top right is the hand rough set which was really just to throw ideas on the table, with the third on the bottom left being my near finished design, and finally on the bottom right is the final design, where I decided to add a lot more contrast to the entire piece with thick bars of black and white contrasting with the text. I also reassembled the company logo in the final design, I think it made the whole thing a lot neater, all in all a clean and effective design in my eyes.
