Watts Tower and the Grid

For the Watts Tower assignment I've decided to go with the modular grid design, mainly because it gives me the most elbow room in terms of shape and size, with every tiny square on the grid acting like a piece of a much bigger construct. If I need a bigger section, I just combine grid points to make it so. In regards to my direction of the poster, I've decided to portray the Towers as a symbol of endurance and durability towards the high school students from age 15-18. This way the Towers can act as an inspirational symbol as they get through high school and come out of it all hopefully ready to endure the harder times to come.
If the Towers were built during a tough time in a tough area using only what was available to the artist, why can't the students do the same to reach their own endeavors?

  1. Rudy here are a few word on your watts - where are you photos?
Turn into something that high schoolers look to keep them going. A static thing that can give them a sense of self.
IDEA: Beacon of inspiration, that high schoolers can look to.
    Hard ship, durability, persistence, resistance,
    Inspire, beacon, remember, educate.
    Sort of like propaganda.
    Think back but push forward
    Aim high like the towers
SLOGAN: Its still standing, can you?
    DESIGNER: Alexi
